The Role
The ideal candidate is motivated designing for scale, developing for high availability, and has a strong interest in cloud engineering, containerization, and DevSecOps solutions. Our team uses a modern tech stack including Kafka, NoSQL, Ansible, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and more.
What You’ll Do:
Manage, mentor and grow the Infrastructure/DevOps team; Inherit a team of 3+ engineers from day one
Develop the skills and talents of others
Coach and mentor engineers and managers to be more effective and successful
Provide guidance, direction, and support
Work closely with upper management to define strategies and plans related to infrastructure systems stability, reliability, security and scalability (both on-prem and cloud)
Lead, own and drive infrastructure/DevOps projects from start to completion related to 24/7 low latency large-scale distributed mission-critical systems
Scale the company infrastructure and services from on-prem to the containerized cloud including solutions analysis, defining cloud strategy, architecture design, determining migration priorities, technical plans, and hands-on implementation
Design, implement, optimize, and support highly-scalable, highly-available production infrastructure in Kubernetes running containerized services
Represent the Infrastructure Team in cross-functional projects, meetings and to the company at large
Qualifications:
BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
5+ years of experience in managing and leading infrastructure teams and projects
4+ years of experience as a Systems or DevOps Engineer
Experience with large scale production systems
Strong knowledge and experience of cloud services and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
Strong knowledge and experience of Kubernetes, containerization (Docker), and container orchestration
Good knowledge and experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud-agnostic strategy (AWS preferred)
Familiarity with CentOS, RedHat, or Oracle Enterprise Linux
Must have exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills
Operates with a vision and belief in developing the skills and talents of others
Is a plus:
Digital advertising industry experience
Hands-on on-prem to the cloud migration experience
Experience with Infrastructure as Code
Familiarity with microservices
Experience working in an agile software development team using Jira
